Sean Keane

Sean Keane grew up on the cuddly streets of Pleasant Hill, California, before beginning his comedy career in the even-cuddlier town of Berkeley, where he ran UC Berkeley's humor magazine, The Heuristic Squelch, and produced a series of comedy shows. He began his standup career in San Francisco years later, and began receiving acclaim for his intelligent writing, autobiographical storytelling, and remarkably pink cheeks.

Sean has appeared at numerous festivals, including SF Sketchfest, the Bridgetown Comedy Festival, and the Humboldt Comedy Festival. He's contributed to McSweeney's Internet Tendency and ESPN the Magazine, and performed at Litquake, the San Francisco Literary Festival. His writing has appeared in the East Bay Express, Deadspin.com, and various sports blogs all over the internet. He's had the privilege of working with such comedians as Todd Barry, Greg Proops, Dave Attell Tig Notaro, Rory Scovel, TJ Miller, Kyle Kinane, and Kurt Braunohler, among others.

He's a founding member of The Business, SF's finest alt-comedy showcase since 2009, which the SF Weekly and SF Magazine have each called "Best of SF." The San Jose Mercury News called Sean a "Comic To Watch" in 2011, and he's a three-time champion of the live standup game show Iron Comic.
